I started and finished building this fairly easy Italeri RQ-1 Predator Drone kit in about an hour. There were several tiny parts that proved a bit challenging. It all fit together well with only one area that has a bit of a gap were the wings and fuselage fit together. I might use some Zap-a-Gap to fill it... I might not. It still looks good. I threw it into my paint booth, so depending on the afternoon today I might get the base coat done. I'll try detailing this tomorrow. I always liked how these Predator Drones looked and when I found this model at the last model show I went to I jumped at the chance to build one.
The Italeri model RQ-1 Predator box.
This one is out of order in my line up of pictures... this is the first cote of paint to my finished Predator in my paint booth.
Cutting off some flashing...
The kit before I started to put it together...
Some really, really tiny panel parts.. I could barely get these to go into the slots for them....
Using clamps to hold the upper part and lower part of the model together...there still was a little gap near the wing on both sides... also, I put a nice dent into the plastic on the nose of the drone with my clamp that I had to sand out... frustrating...
On the turntable in my paint booth....
Starting out....
The finished model kit (pre-painting)... it tuned out nice (in my opinion)....
