I Met Larry Hama

I went to the Emerald City Comicon in Seattle at the beginning of the month and had a blast! Two days of pure nerd fun! I got to binge on almost everything that makes up most of my hobbies! It was a 40th birthday present from my wife. We had gone last year, and we got to go again this year. I went for two days and my wife and daughter went with me on the second day to meet some of the celebrities. One of my high lights of the Con was meeting none other than Larry Hama created of the modern day GI Joe franchise! I've always wanted to meet him and have him sign something for me. I was and still am a fan of GI Joe. I used to play the toys when I was a kid, read and collect the comic books, and of course watch the cartoons. Most of my childhood friends were into GI Joe. Larry Hama was a really nice guy.. I enjoyed talking to him a little and told him that I grew up loving the stories he created in the comics.. He had a great imagination. I had him sign some stuff of mine and had him draw me a picture of Snake Eyes verses Stormshadow .. So cool. Something I will prize for a very long time! It's kind of rekindled my interest in GI Joe.. I really want to display all my old action figures somehow... I've been reading a little bit about how Larry created some of the characters and have found out some things I never knew... I appreciate them on a different level as a 40 year old than I did as a kid.
