It has been a while since I've published anything on my blog. Hopefully I can be a little more consistent in my posts in the future. A few years ago I hurt my back while working in our yard and was unable to work or do anything for a couple months. I considered working on my unfinished models and painting my miniatures during this time to complete projects that I had been working on for many years. But, I felt I wanted to try something new, and wanted to venture into 28mm wargaming, but wasn't quite sure which era I wanted to pursue. I have always loved WWII models (tanks in particular) and had fond memories of playing with my Dad's toy soldiers when I was very young (before I started playing with action figures... Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers, etc... from the 80's) and my Dad has always loved WWII military history. I got into building WWII tanks and armor when I was in high school and in my early 20's, but hadn't really done anything for years. In searching through the internet while injured I came across the Warlord Games website and fell instantly in love with their line of WWII miniatures and tank models. I decided to make the plunge and purchased a Bolt Action starter set. Once I received that in the mail and assembled my German half track and some of the infantry I instantly became addicted! I couldn't get enough of the miniatures and could see visions of vast German, Russian, and American armies moving across my game table! I almost didn't care if I learned the rules for the game, but was really enjoying building and painting the figures and game pieces! I did eventually read the rules, but I was more interested in the process of building the tanks, etc. After months of painting I entered some of the pieces in our once a year local Model Club swap meet and won second place for my models in my category! Now after a couple years I have a small army of Germans and USA Airborne troops. Please enjoy the few pictures below... more to come!
